Frontier picks up startup award

The Fabless Semiconductor Association has named Frontier Silicon as its "startup to watch".

At the fabless semiconductor industry's tenth annual awards dinner held last Thursday in Santa Clara (California, USA), Frontier Silicon - the leading fabless manufacturer of semiconductors for digital radio, TV and mobile TV products - was announced as winner of the "Startup to watch" award by the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA).

The award is recognition by the FSA venture capital advisory board that Frontier Silicon demonstrates the greatest likelihood of achieving its next phase of growth.

The awards programme celebrates leadership in the semiconductor industry and recognises public and private fabless companies demonstrating excellence through their success, vision, strategy and future opportunity in the fabless industry.

Anthony Sethill, CEO of Frontier Silicon said: "We are extremely delighted to have won this prestigious international award".

"It is recognition of both our achievement in pioneering and commercialising low cost technology for mass market digital radio products in Europe, and our intent on achieving similar results in the emerging mobile TV sector".

Incorporated in 1994, the association positively impacts the growth and return on invested capital of this business model to enhance the environment for innovation.

The FSA provides a platform for meaningful global collaboration between fabless companies and their partners, and identifies, debates, and discusses business and technical issues.
