High availability for cPCI platform
Force Computers has released its preconfigured Centellis CO 25000-9U system.
It is targeted at OEMs designing networking, telecommunications and customer premises equipment for e-commerce vendors, telecommunications providers and others using large servers for purposes such as digital X-ray and magnetic resonance imaging.
This 4U-high system offers 15 slots, of which 10 are full-length 64bit PCI slots to accommodate OEM needs for mixing and matching I/O expansion cards to meet their configuration requirements.
Based on PICMG PCI/ISA passive backplane technology, System 4 servers offer a range of configuration options.
Single Celeron 566MHz and dual 1GHz Pentium III processor-based SBCs are available in two standard configurations.
The Celeron processor option has 128Mbyte of memory and a 20Gbyte IDE hard disk drive.
The dual Pentium III processor option features 512Mbyte of memory, a 36Gbyte SCSI hard disk drive and a Gigabit Ethernet interface.
Alternatively, customers can select their SBC configuration from four other processor options: single Celeron 733MHz processor; single Pentium III 600 or 850MHz processor; or dual Pentium III 866MHz processors.
All SBCs include graphics, serial, parallel, USB and Ethernet interfaces with some featuring SCSI interfaces.
System 4's 15 expansion slots include 10 full-length PCI slots, three ISA slots and two for SBCs plus options for DVD/floppy, CD/floppy and internal drives.
A powered 15-slot enclosure is also available separately.
As with all Flexor products, product longevity support is available.
Based on PICMG PCI/ISA standard passive backplane technology, the Flexor line provides a range of processors, backplanes and enclosures that combine to create platforms to match OEM requirements.
PICMG passive backplane technology offers advantages of low-cost peripherals and I/O cards from the PC market but with flexibility and reliability that standard PCs cannot match.
System 4 embedded servers are now available in volume.
