IC design expertise enhances frequency
control
Acquisition positions Fox as one of the leading semiconductor companies in the high-performance analogue-intensive mixed-signal timing arena.
Fox Electronics has acquired Jet City Electronics, a Seattle, Washington-based fabless semiconductor design firm The acquisition positions Fox as not only one of the leading semiconductor companies in the high-performance analogue-intensive mixed-signal timing arena, but the one that can provide lower costs in both the commodity and niche precision businesses

Oscillators run faster and are more stable
Fox Electronics has extended the frequency range and stability options of its popular F4100 Series crystal oscillators to 170MHz with stabilities as tight as +50ppm (F4105) for all conditions.
Ultra-low profile for RTC crystal
Fox Electronics has a miniature watch crystal that measures just 7.0 x 1.5mm with an extremely low profile of 1.4mm.
According to EL Fox Jr, President of Fox Electronics: "As the global leader in frequency control solutions, we give our customers products that provide the very best cost-performance ratios, as well as the broadest product offerings".
"The acquisition of Jet City enhances our ability to do this by bringing fresh, strategic technology that is ready for implementation into the market, instead of relying on endless traditional cost reduction techniques that are running out of steam".
"This, in turn, enables us to both develop and implement the latest technologies into our product offerings - quickly and cost-effectively".
Established in 1994, Jet City has pioneered several cutting edge technologies used in the high frequency timing industry and several maskless memories to increase reliability while reducing fab costs.
The company's core business includes high performance, analogue intensive, mixed signal application specific integrated circuits using PLL architectures.
Jet City was instrumental in the development of Fox's revolutionary new line of XpressO configurable oscillators.
This product line, made possible by combining 29 years of Fox crystal manufacturing knowledge with Jet City's innovations in proprietary ASICs design and noise reduction technologies, provides the frequency control market with devices that deliver extremely low jitter and phase noise, lower cost, faster deliveries and custom frequencies from 0.75MHz to 1.35GHz.
As a wholly owned subsidiary, Jet City will continue to provide Fox with proprietary, leading-edge, timing ASICs as well as with core research and development.
In addition, to enhance the knowledge and presence of this unique semiconductor capability within the Fox organisation, the President of Jet City, John Fallisgaard, will be joining Fox's Board of Directors.
