Fox expands Xpresso oscillator series

A Fox Electronics product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Apr 30, 2009

Fox Electronics has expanded its Xpresso oscillator series to include a 2.5V LVDS VCXO version with a frequency range of 0.75MHz through 1GHz in a miniature 5mm x 3.2mm package.

FVXO-LC52 oscillators are suitable for use in data storage, fibre channel, wireless repeaters, transponders, HDTV, FPGAs, data acquisition and military communications.

The configurable frequency Xpresso oscillator series utilises application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that have been designed and developed by Fox, and concentrate on both noise reduction technologies as well as significantly lower jitter levels.

The FVXO-LC52 oscillators use a third order Delta Sigma Modulator (DSM) to reduce noise levels comparable to traditional bulk quartz and SAW oscillators.

The latest technology employed in these oscillators enables optimal selection of the output type, input voltages and temperature performance features.

The oscillators offer a frequency resolution to six decimal places, an absolute pull range (APR) of +50ppm and operating temperatures of -20C to +70C or -40C to +85C.

These RoHS-compliant oscillators feature an industry standard footprint and pin-out, have a tri-state enable/disable feature and are constructed with a gold-over-nickel termination finish.

In addition, this series incorporates Fox's serial identification system with comprehensive traceability to ensure quality control.
