LED backlighting consumes less current
Forge Europa claims to have perfected a cost-conscious technique to provide LED backlighting for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
All production orders are bin coded for luminous intensity and can be supplied taped or loose to individual customers requirements.
The 505nm (dominant) green LEDs are manufactured from proprietary InGaN material and are also selected for forward voltage to ensure excellent batch-to-batch consistency.
Although the majority of traffic applications are likely to require the 5mm narrow angle device, other package styles also offered are 3mm and elliptical devices having very wide viewing characteristics of 100/50 degrees.
The new range is offered with the option of a specially formulated UV-resistant epoxy that limits the degrading effects of sunlight on the long-term performance of the products.
The new devices will be on show on stand A4.466 at Electronica 2002.
