Schools hear of LED advantages
Forge Europa has been introducing its LED technology to schoolchildren.
Forge Europa, the LED lamps, displays and lighting specialist, has recently been introducing its LED technology to schoolchildren As part of a planned programme of workshops Julie Barton of Forge Europa has been introducing local primary school children through a practical hands-on approach to the uses and advantages of LED lamps and displays
The children enjoyed the challenge of wiring up LEDs.
They were particularly keen on the potential environmental advantages of LEDs over other light sources.
Barton says: "I was very impressed with the children's concern for the environment.
They were very enthusiastic about how energy efficient LEDs are, being powered by as little as 10% of the energy required by typical incandescent bulbs whilst lasting potentially up to 100 times longer.
They liked the fact that less environmental waste was created due to the longevity of LEDs".
