Displays show the merits of white LEDs

A Forge Europa product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team May 6, 2004

A new range of white seven-segment and dot-matrix LED displays are available in package styles suited to a variety of applications.

White LED lamps may currently be stealing most of the technology headlines, but mainstream usage for lighting remains beyond the budget of most applications.

Fortunately, by virtue of Forge Europa's continuous technological innovation programme white seven-segment and dot-matrix LED displays are available right now as part of the company's OptiLED range, in package styles suited to a variety of applications.

The seven segment series includes three sizes, with 7.6mm compact package, 10.0mm and industry standard 14.2mm character heights.

All displays have black faces and are offered in two intensity options, standard and high performance.

White dot matrix displays are available in 5 x 7 and 8 x 8 configurations in sizes from 18 to 53mm offering the full ASCII character set.

Ideal for a range of industrial and high spec professional applications, the mechanically rugged displays are offered in column anode and column cathode pin-outs.

Prototyping quantities are available ex-stock from Forge Europa, or the company's franchised distribution partner Farnell.
