RF cables meet their (phase) match
A wide range of phase-matched RF cables is available from Florida RF Labs for many popular series including Lab-Flex, Semi-Rigid, BJ085/BJ141 as well as Standard Solid Dielectric Flexible cable.
The cables are designed to be used for various applications including jumpers, instrumentation, high-frequency interconnects, military and space applications.
Unbent assemblies can be provided for final shaping at the installation site (proper forming tools required).
The Semi Rigid cable assemblies offer the highest isolation with a lower loss than flexible and conformable cables with solid dielectrics of the same size.
Phase-matched sets are available with a standard tolerance of +/-1deg/GHz.
Semi-Rigid assemblies are available with a wide range of connectors (special connectors must be used for low-loss cable because of the larger diameter of the cable centre conductor).
Included in the the Semi-Rigid family are: Semi-Rigid 047 (0.047in diameter, maximum frequency 110GHz), Semi-Rigid 086 (0.086in, 60GHz), Semi-Rigid 141 (0.141in, 35GHz) and Semi-Rigid 250 (0.25in, 18GHz).
The Semi-Rigid 047 is often used as an interconnect without connectors.
The exposed centre conductor and outer jacket are soldered directly to the circuits being connected.
The Semi-Rigid 086 is the most common size of the range of cable assemblies.
This size matches well with miniature high frequency connectors such as 2.4mm and SMP.
The Semi-Rigid 141 offers high performance to 35GHz with moderate insertion loss.
It matches well with high frequency connectors such as 2.9mm, BMA and SMA connectors.
The Semi-Rigid 250 is used where power and low loss are required with the reliability of a Semi-Rigid cable.
Larger connectors such as Type N and TNC with extended performance to 18GHz offer excellent power handling performance.
