FarSite has added a host of new features to its popular POS (point of sale) TCP to X.25 gateways.
The products enable transfer and translation of charge card type transaction messages between X.25 and TCP/IP networks and equipment.
Support for Electronic Funds transfer protocol SIBS, a PAD front end and CTL specific message types are now included along with APACS and ISO8583.
In addition the product now supports general purpose TCP to X.25 data translation with static and dynamic routing plus Cisco RBP (Record Boundary Preservation) data compatibility.
The products are available in a 1U rack mountable appliance format as the FarLinX TCP-X25 POS gateway.
There are three versions of the product with support from 10 to up to 4000 simultaneous transactions.
From up to eight X.25 lines can be connected to the gateway.
Two or more systems can be run in parallel in a fully redundant and load balanced configuration.
A software version of the product, the FarSync TCP-X25 POS gateway, is also available.
This is used in conjunction with FarSync X25 communications cards on Windows based systems.
The POS gateways can be configured either locally or remotely; changes to the configuration are applied dynamically without the need to restart the POS gateway.
Text file and GUI configuration are also supported.
The product includes a GUI X.25 line monitor with full frame-level and packet-level decode to assist with diagnosing of X.25 related problems.
