Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe is releasing its Leo FR-V (Fujitsu RISC-VLIW) chip, based on the FR-V architecture announced last year.
Fujitsu customers will also benefit from the partnership, which covers customer support and engineering services.
The co-operation will focus on the most important areas of Bluetooth wireless technology for mutual customers, in order to reduce development and production costs by providing superior tools and services.
In addition, customers will receive increased connectivity of applications developed with software tools from IAR Systems.
The IAR embedded Bluetooth protocol stack and the IAR MakeApp configuration and optimisation tool will have added support for the Fujitsu Bluetooth modules.
The embedded Bluetooth protocol stack from IAR Systems is one of the most compact in the world, bringing down manufacturing costs in serial production due to reduced consumption of CPU and ROM/RAM resources (less than 2Kbit RAM).
Major industrial, telecomms and consumer electronics giants in USA, Europe, Asia and Japan have already selected the embedded Bluetooth protocol stack from IAR Systems.
IAR Systems is the only company in the world that can provide a complete set of development and test tools for Bluetooth products.
These include compilers, debug tools, Bluetooth starter kits, Bluetooth protocol stacks and a test and prequalification tool, IAR PreQual, that tests whether a Bluetooth product conforms to the Bluetooth specification.
"Our long-term goal is to provide complete solutions and support, which meet all the very demanding requirements of our Bluetooth module customers", said Arno Rudolph, Strategic Marketing Manager Mobile at Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe.
"With IAR Systems as our approved software partner, customers are assured of smooth and cost-effective system integration of the Fujitsu modules".
"The Bluetooth partnership with Fujitsu strengthens IAR Systems' position as the leading supplier of development tools for Bluetooth products", says Lars-Erik Stenkil, Business Development Manager at IAR Systems in Sweden.
"At the same time, Fujitsu customers get a highly compact Bluetooth protocol stack which in turn reduces the development and production costs for the complete Bluetooth product". Request free introductory details about products from Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe ...
