Fault tolerant processor fits space-qualified FPGA
Gaisler Research has launched the Leon3 processor as a standard component using the space qualified and radiation tolerant Actel RTAX2000S FPGA.
The Sigint 5000 series are setting the operational standard for signal intelligence, communications and other mission critical data recording applications.
"We're delighted that Eonic, after evaluation against competing architecture's multiprocessor solutions, selected the Leon3 and GRLIB for its next-generation SoC design", said Per Danielsson, President and CEO of Gaisler Research.
"With the Leon3 multiprocessor technology, the Sigint 5000 will benefit from increased performance and lower development costs".
The Leon3 with multiprocessor capabilities together with the GRLIB IP-library is ideally suited for SoC designs and implements plug and play capabilities, minimising the engineering effort during the design phase.
The multiprocessor solution gives higher performance while maintaining low power and clock frequency.
