Maintenance contract signed with space
agency
Gaisler Research has been awarded a contract for support and maintenance of the LEON2 processor and for development of the fault tolerant LEON3 processor.
Gaisler Research has been awarded a Eur 500,000 contract for support and maintenance of the LEON2 processor and for development of the fault tolerant LEON3 processor The contact will also secure the development of the successor LEON3, which is more suitable for system on a chip (SoC) designs, says Jiri Gaisler the CTO and founder of Gaisler Research
The commercial version of LEON3 was released in October 2004.
The processor achieves up to 400MHz on a 0.13um process.
The LEON3 together with the GRLIB IP library is ideally suited SoC designs and implements plug and play capabilities, minimising the engineering effort during the design phase.
