Gaisler Research and the Swedish Space Corporation have signed a licence agreement for the use of the fault tolerant Leon3 processor in the Prisma satellite.

Gaisler Research and the Swedish Space Corporation have signed a licence agreement for the use of the fault tolerant Leon3 processor in the Prisma satellite The high performing 32bit Leon3 processor will be used for the onboard data handling system for the Prisma satellite, a rendezvous and formation flying mission

The onboard computer is based on the fault tolerant Leon3 in an Actel RTAX2000 FPGA.

"We are proud to announce this agreement as this will be the first flight of the Leon3-FT in an Actel RTAX FPGA", says Sandi Habinc, System Design Manager at Gaisler Research.
