Gaisler Research has signed a licence agreement with Radionor Communications for the use of the Leon3 processor.

Gaisler Research has signed a licence agreement with Radionor Communications for the use of the Leon3 processor The Leon3 and the GRLIB IP-library will be used in Radionor's new 802.11 SecureWLAN chip

"We're delighted that Radionor, after evaluation against competing architecture's processor solutions, selected the LEON3 and GRLIB for its next-generation SoC design", said Per Danielsson, president and CEO of Gaisler Research.

"With the Leon3 multiprocessor technology, the SecureWLAN chip will benefit from increased performance and lower development costs".

"We found that the performance, flexibility and the availability of source code for the Leon3 and GRLIB was an ideal match for integration of our own IP for this high-security device", said Atle Saegrov, CTO of Radionor Communications.

The LEON3 processor together with the GRLIB IP-library is ideally suited for SoC designs and implements plug and play capabilities, minimising the engineering effort during the design phase.
