Media blades upgrade legacy systems
MB6108 and MB6224 media blades allow telecommunication design engineers and system integrators to combine voice and media processing technology.
It is designed to eliminate the space traditional rack mount hubs take up in a system.
The cPCI hub inserts into a rear transition module slot to provide Ethernet connectivity for a cPCI system.
A MagnumBlade DS12 hub is typically used to interconnect and manage multiple computers present in the cPCI system.
These computers, often in critical applications, need reliable methods of communication; a hub provides this robust functionality.
Additionally the hub does not connect to the backplane, another benefit for the cPCI system designs because precious bandwidth from the cPCI backplane will not be taken away by the hub as well as maintaining Carrier Class reliability.
The unit has obvious applications in telecoms and other high-availability systems where maximum up-time is the most important requirement.
A manual up-link switch on the card provides the capability of cascading hubs together in a system without crossover cabling.
The MagnumBlade DS12 has high availability, with over 30 year MTBF, low noise (class B) and is NEBS compliant.
The 12 ports of the DS12 will function at either 10M or 100M with full auto-negotiation.
A bridge is included to interconnect the two traffic domains (10M and 100M), enabling all users of either the 100M or 10M domain to communicate with each other.
The DS12 comply with 100Base-TX and 10Base-TX Ethernet standards and have Class II + repeater functionality.
