A new family of logic parts with a tiny footprint has been introduced by GD Technik.

A new family of logic parts with a tiny footprint has been introduced by GD Technik The Pericom SOTiny family of nine single gate logic functions is available in either SOT23 or SC70 5-pin, space saving packages

The devices can be easily placed in compact and densely populated boards, thus helping designers to realise smaller more compact solutions.

Complimenting their existing range of SOTiny switches, the P174ST1Gxx family of logic parts are particularly suited to applications in compact, portable electronic equipment such as PDAs, digital cameras, mobile phones and pagers.

SOTiny devices are expected to find countless new applications as the demand for smaller, more powerful electronic products increases.

SOTiny logic parts can also be used as a 'quick-fix' for logic errors in completed designs.

Their miniature design means that they can be placed in between components on heavily populated printed circuit boards.

This process is far more economical than embarking on a redesign to fix mistakes.

It can also help shorten the time to market for a new design; critical in view of the speed with which a leading edge design can be superseded by new technological developments if time to market is too slow.

SOTiny logic parts have a broad operating range (Vcc=1.8 to 3.6V), and a high output drive (+/-24mA at 3V Vcc).

The devices are also high speed with a typical tPD of 1.8ns.

Operating temperature range for the SOTiny range is -40 to +85C.
