Equaliser compensates for cable losses
The first two members of the HD-LINX II family of devices for HDTV/SDTV multirate SDI systems from Gennum are the GS1524 multirate adaptive equaliser and the GS1528 dual slew-rate cable driver.
The C-Mix HD, part of Chyron's new line of HD products, is an available option for Chyron's C-Mix multilayer video mixer.
The upgrade allows HD and SD characters to be generated simultaneously, in a convenient and cost effective manner.
The C-Mix HD takes one of the output channels, both video and key, and up-converts it to a 720p or 1080i high-definition serial digital signal video.
This new option supports both 525- and 625-line systems.
Gennum's Visual Excellence line of image processors provides the advanced processing required for high quality broadcast applications.
The GF9330 motion adaptive de-interlacer and GF9331 motion coprocessor provide true 10bit motion adaptive de-interlacing with edge processing for all high- and standard-definition video signals, and the GF9320 performs high quality 10bit scaling.
The solution serves as the ideal video conversion platform in the CMIX-HD.
"Chyron is one the leading companies recognising the value of integrating high quality up conversion processors in larger systems and we are happy to be part of this product", says Dan Turow, Director, Image Processing Products at Gennum.
"As broadcasters migrate their infrastructure from SD to HD, equipment with integrated up conversion capabilities must deliver the quality that broadcasters demand".
