The IMPCC2 3U CompactPCI single board computer and multifunction PMC carrier card are the latest member of the PowerPact 3 family.

The IMPCC2 3U CompactPCI single board computer (SBC) and multifunction PMC carrier card are the latest member of the PowerPact 3 family from GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Available in five air- and conduction-cooled ruggedisation levels, the IMPCC2 is characterised by an SBC power dissipation of only 5W - significantly less than that of competing products

Highly flexible, it can be used in a range of applications from a self-contained single slot embedded computer to a "dumb" carrier card with addon I/O functionality.

"The IMPCC2 is an extremely versatile product, offering a broad range of capabilities that can allow the development of complete 3U systems with the minimum number of slots", said Richard Kirk, Product Manager at GE Fanuc Embedded Systems.

"Deployed either stand-alone or used in conjunction with other PowerPact 3 boards - and combined with the extremely compact RT4 rugged four-slot chassis - it is ideal for solutions in defence and aerospace that are constrained by space, weight and power".

Featuring two 10/100BaseT Ethernet ports, two USB 2.0 ports, four high speed serial channels, optional VGA video and up to 2Gbyte of solid-state (Flash memory module) storage, the IMPCC2 can be optionally configured as a stand-alone or peripheral PowerPC processor using the embedded 266MHz 603e core in its PowerQUICC (8270) communications processor.

The IMPCC2 provides support for a wide range of GE Fanuc Embedded Systems and third party PMCs.

Available with comprehensive operating system and deployed test support, first shipments of the IMPCC2 will occur in the second quarter of 2007.
