Gel-Mec UK has added to its light-load antivibration range with a new series of small, high-performance metal bonded sandwich mounts.

Gel-Mec UK has added to its light-load antivibration range with a new series of small, high-performance metal bonded sandwich mounts.

The new mounts are smaller in size and are much softer than traditional sandwich or stud mounts.

Small compressors, pumps and motors, previously too light for other standard mounts can use this new isolation system.

The smallest mount can damp a maximum load of just 220g with an outer diameter of 7mm.

They are made of a very soft urethane material with a Shore A durometer of 24 and a low natural frequency of 17Hz.

The mounts are capable of isolating lower frequency vibrations - 25Hz and above - while still providing good damping at resonance.

Large deflections under shock loads are effectively controlled and they provide a highly damped isolation system requiring minimum sway space.

Eight mounts sizes come as standard for loads up to 22kg and in male-male, male-blank, male-female and female-blank configurations.

Material properties remain stable over a broad temperature range.

Extensive material information is provided including compressive and shear loads, tensile strength, compression set, hardness, flammability, chemical resistance and tear strength.
