Connectors complement low-loss cables
Gigatronix has an extensive range of connectors to address the majority of coaxial cables now being incorporated into wireless system designs.
As the market for wireless communications continues to expand, engineers and buyers are now faced with the problem of trying to source cost-effective and readily available coaxial connectors to suit new low-loss cables Hampshire-based RF coaxial connector manufacturer Gigatronix has introduced an extensive range of connectors to address the majority of coaxial cables now being incorporated into wireless system designs

Reverse-polarity connectors avoid mismating
Gigatronix has a new range of reverse-polarity (RP) coaxial connectors and now offers connectors in several series, including BNC, TNC, N Type and SMA in nickel- and gold-plated finishes.
Speedy specification for coax cable assemblies
The Cabulator is a novel web-based design program for producing RF coaxial cable assemblies.
Many cable manufacturers, including Times Microwave, Commscope and Belden, have all introduced ranges of 50ohm low-loss coaxial cables to meet increasingly demanding wireless applications.
These easily routable low-loss cables are now becoming the standard choice of cable for antenna feeds, jumper leads and system interconnects as they offer lower attenuation over longer lengths, and improved signal transmission over shorter lengths when compared with traditional RG-style cables.
Gigatronix has extended its range of BNC, BNC reverse polarity, TNC, TNC reverse polarity, SMA, SMA reverse polarity and N-type connectors to offer the ideal solution for terminating to this newly evolved group of cables.
Within each connector series plugs, jacks and bulkhead jacks are available to suit LMR100, LMR195, LMR200, LMR240 and LMR400 (plus their Belden and Commscope equivalents).
Customer-specific connectors are also available, with reasonable minimum order quantities and short lead times.
Gigatronix also manufactures a range of cable assemblies using Times Microwave LMR cable as standard.
The connectors have been incorporated into the Cabulator cable assembly design section of the Gigatronix website, where pricing, drawings, technical data and the option to purchase online are all now available.
"With wireless systems now becoming a part of everyday life, engineers and buyers are increasingly looking for a readily available source for connectors to suit these new low-loss cables".
"This range of connectors provides the majority of solutions customers require at sensible prices, without prohibitive minimum order quantities", says Darren White, Business Development Manager for Gigatronix.
Gigatronix will be presenting these new products, along with its extensive selection of cabling solutions on Stand 462 in Hall B4 at Electronica in Munich.
