HV relay copes with high inrush currents

New from high-voltage-relay specialist Gigavac, the G13 is a completely sealed DPDT (double pole double throw) 15kV relay.

New from high-voltage-relay specialist Gigavac, the G13 is a completely sealed DPDT (double pole double throw) 15kV relay With a height of 48mm and width of 55mm, the G13 easily handles high inrush current switching between power sources and loads

The G13 is designed with mounting flexibility and simplicity of installation.

It can be mounted in any position using either the jam nut supplied for through-chassis installations or the conveniently located mounting tabs on top.

It comes equipped with 300mm high-voltage flying leads.

Plus, custom length cables are available that eliminate the need for special wiring.

According to Sales VP Jim Lanum: "In the past, switching 15kV between power sources or loads has required the use of two double throw relays".

"Now, we have developed a small, inexpensive 15kV DPDT relay that replaces those old relays and handles the high inrush current when switching occurs".

"The SF6 gas inside the G13 has many benefits; including high-voltage standoff capabilities that ionise during contact closure increasing the ability to switch high current inrush loads".

The G13 is a double pole, double throw (2 form C) configuration with 300mm or custom-length high voltage flying leads that make connection easy.

Coil voltages are 12, 26.5 and 115V DC or customised; and have Gigavac's exclusive changeable coil feature allowing users to change the coil even after the relay has been installed.

Most popular models are in stock with special orders available within two weeks.

For example, in quantities of 25 units, the price of the G13 is $252 each. Request a free brochure from Gigavac ...
