Online portal enables early-stage chip estimates

An first integrated chip planning portal includes an extensive database of digital, mixed signal and analogue intellectual property components.

Chip Estimate Corporation has launched an first integrated chip planning portal including an extensive database of digital, mixed signal and analogue intellectual property (IP) components.

Visitors to ChipEstimate.com can use a "rank-by-relevance" search engine to find IP components, and view comprehensive datasheets with details on IP status in silicon and overall quality.

Over 4000 components are in the online catalog, representing over 150 IP suppliers.

"Chip Estimate is responding to the industry need for aggregating key components from across the semiconductor design chain for consideration at the architectural level of chip planning", commented Adam Traidman, President of Chip Estimate Corporation.

"By launching an extensive and searchable IP database at ChipEstimate.com, we hope to enable even more design teams to make better decisions at the earliest phase in the design flow".

ChipEstimate.com enables users to build lists of IP of interest and then import these lists into a free copy of the company's InCyte EDA software.

InCyte estimates chip size, power and leakage, and facilitates easy IP exploration in the context of chip specifications.

By providing this integrated site, Chip Estimate is extending the IP and manufacturing links of the silicon design chain to early chip planning.

In response to users' requests for expanded IP options, Chip Estimate has acquired the VCX IP database from Beach Solutions and has retained its IP partner relationships.

The IP database and user communities have been integrated into ChipEstimate.com, and effective today, visitors to the VCX website are automatically redirected to the new Chip Estimate IP portal.
