A French engineer has been working at GSPK Electronics to gain specific and detailed experience in assembly techniques used within the electronics and manufacturing industries.

French engineer, Nicolas Wolff, has elected to join GSPK Electronics to gain specific and detailed experience in assembly techniques used within the electronics and manufacturing industries ready to take back to France Qualified as "Ingenieur genie des systemes industriels" and encouraged by his expertise and ability, Wolff has been working alongside a specialist team exclusively seconded to focus on and help assemble a highly complex product

Using the newly acquired Mascot, a light guided conventional workstation, Wolff was able to learn how to pick and place components in a much more enhanced and accurate fashion.

The Mascot PC workstation is a uniquely quick and reliable solution for building PCBs precisely.

It minimises PCB build times, improves production quality and offers greater flexibility for PTH insertion, inspection and rework.

Specifically designed with ergonomics in mind, the Mascot provides a hydraulic bench height adjustment facility for overall comfort and an eye-safe laser to indicate position and orientation of the component while simultaneously presenting the correct component to the operator.

Build instructions are displayed on screen, providing part information, special assembly instructions and component images.

The complex product being developed is the first order of its kind and the finished assemblies are set to be incorporated into state of the art surface analysis equipment.

Crucial to the success of this new order has been GSPK Electronics' ability to not only plan, implement, build and test the product, but also to ship the manufactured assemblies to the client, meeting critically tight deadlines.

This new product assembly has required the skill in placing large numbers of components ranging from traditional SMT components to highly complex silicon control devices with custom designed high voltage transformers and power components.

Neil Roper, Operations Manager said: "Nicolas has been instrumental in consolidating the work instructions which included preproduction build, secondary operations, modifications and component preparation instructions which were required for the Mascot light guided conventional workstation and box build".

Roper continues: "Nicolas wanted to work for a first class electronics manufacturing company in England so he could not only learn and develop his electronic manufacturing skills, but also his technical English speaking understanding skills, and specifically within his career of choice".

"We at GSPK have helped him to achieve this and our thanks must also go to the ladies on the Mothershift who were instrumental in helping Nicolas to develop his Yorkshire twang".
