The low-height LQ series of power supplies offers models from 1-12kV that provides a fully adjustable output voltage and current range.

The low-height LQ series of power supplies offers models from 1-12kV that provides a fully adjustable output voltage and current range, while providing low output ripple and noise, proprietary arc quench and arc count circuitry, low stored energy and reduced weight in 5U rack-mount enclosure The LQ series can be used in a host of OEM and research applications including electron-beam processing, physical vapour deposition, microwave processing using magnetron tubes and particle accelerator research

"We are quite pleased to introduce this new Glassman series to the DC power supply marketplace", says Jeremy Simon, Director of Sales and Marketing.

"Being able to offer an air-insulated, 10kW rack-mounted unit with 8.75in height is a major advancement in power density in comparison to competing high voltage models being sold in today's marketplace.

It will provide us the opportunity to meet the packaging requirements of customer opportunities within this power level that prior to this we were unable to meet.

The weight of the LQ is only 60lb, which is another benefit of the Glassman unit".

"We anticipate, based upon early customer feedback for this new product, that the LQ series will expand Glassman's key supplier role into market segments that we have not previously served in the upcoming year as well as providing an innovative new design to Glassman's standard product line".

OEM customers' specifically are demanding their electronic component and subsystem providers reduce the size of their products as hardware space becomes more limited in their system offerings to end-users.

As with previous new products from Glassman, the new LQ series features notable technology benefits including Glassman's proprietary air-insulation technology - where air is used as the primary dielectric medium, in comparison to competitive models that use silicon rubber, epoxy or oil.

Air offers distinct advantages from both a long-term reliability standpoint and serviceability over the extended life of the product.

Proprietary arc count and arc quench circuitry will suppress arcing conditions that can occur regularly in dynamic load environments and provide maximum safety and protection for both the power supply and customer systems.

The LQ series can be used with an RS232 digital interface option, which is now available for most of Glassman's standard models.

Glassman also offers a comprehensive three-year warranty and post-sales support from its staff of application engineers.
