International IC conference tours China
More than 200 semiconductor companies will showcase their latest technologies at Global Sources' 11th International Integrated Circuit - China Conference and Exhibition in March.
More than 200 semiconductor companies - including IC giants Intel, Samsung and Texas Instruments - will showcase their latest technologies at Global Sources' 11th International Integrated Circuit - China Conference and Exhibition (IIC-China) in March.
Other participating companies include Analog Devices, Freescale, Infineon, Micron, NEC, Philips, Renesas, Spansion, STMicroelectronics and Toshiba.
IIC-China will be staged in China's key electronics manufacturing hubs - in Shanghai on 6th and 7th March 2006; Shenzhen on 10th and 11th March 2006; and Beijing on 13th and 14th March 2006.
It is held in conjunction with Embedded Systems Conference-China.
Mark A Saunderson, President of the Global Sources/CMP Media joint venture that organises the event, said: "63% of China-based engineers are already producing or enhancing original designs, and demand for enabling technologies is rapidly rising".
"In 2006, China's consumer electronics, computer and communication sectors alone will consume over US $64 billion worth of ICs".
"IIC-China showcases the exact technologies and design tools engineers need to produce competitive, innovative products".
"And with over 800 booths to visit - about a hundred more than last year - engineers have an even greater choice".
"This is the largest IIC in history".
Saunderson said: "More than 24,000 design engineers, technical managers and purchasing executives across China attended last year's show - pre-exhibition registrations for this year are already at record levels".
IIC-China 2005 visitors were primarily technology specialists who specify or recommend the purchase of technologies in their companies: 56% were design/development engineers; 16% were procurement managers; 15% were engineering/manufacturing managers and test engineers; and 12% were corporate managers.
Senior industry executives will deliver the keynote at each IIC-China venue.
International Rectifier CEO Dr Alex Lidow will speak on "From the state-of-the-art to future trends: power management and its impact on energy conservation" on 6th March in Shanghai.
Freescale Senior Vice President - Strategy and Business Development, Sumit Sadana, will give a keynote on "Succeeding in an evolving semiconductor industry" in Shenzhen on 10th March.
Philips Semiconductors Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Rene Penning de Vries, will give a keynote on "EDA tools: the greatest challenge to future system-on-silicon integration?" on 13th March in Beijing.
Visiting engineers can also attend IIC-China's summit programme, which features panels of experts discussing the latest issues in electronics design and manufacturing.
Engineers can also learn more on specific products and technologies through IIC-China's extensive Vendor Seminar programme.
Companies hosting seminars include Altera, Altium, Freescale, Maxim, Micron, SigmaTel, Spansion and Texas Instruments.
Exhibition hours are 0930-1700.
