Mainland China manufacturers expect to produce more than US $300 million worth of closed circuit TV cameras in 2006, according to a new report.

Global Sources' China Sourcing Report on CCTV cameras shows mainland China manufacturers expect to produce more than US $300 million worth of closed circuit TV (CCTV) cameras in 2006.

56% of surveyed suppliers expect their exports to increase this year, with Asia and North America as key growth markets.

The China Sourcing Report on CCTV cameras covers day/night, dome/speed dome, board, IP, miniature and wireless CCTV cameras.

It includes production, price and technology forecasts, detailed profiles of 47 leading manufacturers in mainland China and Taiwan, and specifications for 103 top-selling export products.

Report publisher, Mark Saunderson, said: "Mainland China's CCTV camera production topped US $170 million in 2005".

"Due to strong security concerns worldwide, makers expect growth to continue well into the future".

The report shows: CCTV camera manufacturing is centred in mainland China's southern province of Guangdong and in Taipei, Taiwan; mainland China has about 150 CCTV camera manufacturers, Taiwan has approximately 100; and makers focus onboard-level, water-resistant, dome/speed dome, and miniature cameras in mainland China, and on dome/speed dome cameras in Taiwan.
