Colin Pizey has been appointed Sales Development Manager in the UK for GMA (general markets) by Global Display Solutions.

Colin Pizey has been appointed Sales Development Manager in the UK for GMA (general markets) by Global Display Solutions.

Having worked in the electronic displays industry for more than a decade, Pizey brings with him broad experience in sales and business management, as well as industry-specific knowledge of the UK and European markets for GM products.

Pizey joins GDS from Westerham-based Retail Display Solutions where he was Sales Manager.

During this time, Pizey helped to consolidate and strengthen product ranges and oversaw a growth in sales of electronic displays and support products.

Prior to this, Pizey was Sales Director for Sabre Vision/Sabre Computers International, and European Sales and Marketing Manager for Universal Machine Intelligence (UMI).

Flat panel TFT/LCD, public information displays (PIDs), embedded PCs, touch screens, industrial monitors, and custom solutions for hostile environments are just some of Pizey's areas of expertise, thereby equipping him for working with GDS customers in a wide range of display applications including interactive kiosks, machine control, marine, in-vehicle, medical and banking.

Pizey, who lives in Berkshire with his wife and three children, joins the GDS headquarters in Yorkshire with the remit to rapidly increase the sales of GDS products.

Pizey will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing and developing GM customer accounts and providing key market intelligence.

This will include extending the sunlight readable display products into new markets such as forecourts, airports, train stations and also increasing market share of GDS's extensive range of industrial TFT and public information displays.

Pizey says, "GDS is a truly global manufacturer, with strengths that are not available elsewhere in this industry.

Pizey adds that he is looking forward to welcoming clients to GDS's new purpose build facility in West Yorkshire.
