32bit MCU with onboard USB and ARM7 power

Now available from Gothic Components, the OKI ML671000 combines 32bit RISC processing, built-in USB 1.1 device controller and on-chip peripherals including a two-channel 8/16bit DMA controller and an external memory controller.

The device enables fast, highly featured control systems for many types of equipment.

The ML671000 is based on the ARM7 TDMI core, which delivers optimum MIPS/W performance and high code density through its Thumb instruction set.

Further features of the core include a 32bit multiplier function for complex arithmetic tasks and debugging facilities including a special hardware extension and the ICE breaker cell for debugging of completed applications using software development tools.

Embedded peripherals include 4Kbyte internal RAM, external memory controller for up to 26Mbyte ROM or 32Mbyte DRAM, one 16550A equivalent UART, eight 8bit ports with bit-level specified I/O direction, two 16bit timers, a 12bit watchdog timer and a choice of interrupt sources with eight priority levels.

An internal crystal oscillator and PLL with halt/stop mode is also included.

The onboard USB controller is capable of operating up to 48MHz, while the maximum CPU operating frequency is 24MHz.

Operating voltage from 3.0 to 3.6V suits low voltage and battery powered applications.

The device is supplied in a low profile 128-pin QFP package.

Potential applications of ML671000 include automotive control systems, cellular telephones, modems, PDAs, AV equipment, STBs, PC peripherals, digital cameras and many other consumer and professional products.

The device is also supported by a development board featuring a built-in debugging monitor to permit debugging from a host PC.

The board includes onboard RAM and Flash to support debugging without having the target memory connected.
