The PXI 3052 is an intelligent module for automotive applications with up to four ports.

Now, for the first time, the user will be able to exchange information between all four CAN interfaces via an internal board network, enabling simple synchronisation of all activities.

It is also possible to create analysis functions, such as passive monitoring (disconnectible acknowledge) and recording of messages on the CANbus.

In contrast to its predecessor, the PXI 3051, the storage capacity for applications has been doubled to 2Mbyte RAM per CAN interface to provide a significant performance increase.

Furthermore, CAN hardware and onboard hardware are galvanically isolated from each other.

In the original version LEDs were implemented as status displays on the front panel; now each port has two status displays for the improved visualisation of operating conditions.

The PXI 3052 software is backwardly compatible with previous modules while at the same time increasing the capabilities of the new module.

All common protocols are supported.

The PXI 3052 has been developed to provide CAN interfaces for the interchange of messages in a CAN network.

The CAN board's goal is that each CAN interface has its own microcontroller.

Therefore, it is possible to generate real timings at CAN messages.

The card is built modularly and provides four CAN interfaces.

The CAN protocol conforms to CAN specifications 2.0A and 2.0B.

Furthermore, real time simulation of ECUs by means of "intelligent" CAN interface is possible.

Freely configurable transceivers according to CAN interface as well as the provision of onboard functions for transport and diagnostic protocols upgrade the functionality of Goepel Electronic's new CAN module.

An additional and important feature is the possibility to use the PXI 3052 in CAN conformity testing.
