Scanflex module for extended boundary
scan tests
Goepel Electronic, a vendor of JTAG/boundary scan systems compliant to IEEE Standard 1149.x, has introduced another I/O module for the boundary scan hardware platform Scanflex.
This member of the Scanflex I/O module family is called SFX1149.4 and provides resources for the test of analogue circuits based on the IEEE Std 1149.4 (dot4) "We have discussed the subject of 1149.4 frequently in the past at technology events such as our world wide Boundary Scan Days"

Test card simulates automotive switching
A new PXI card provides switch simulation and state monitoring of digital signals in automotive engineering applications.
"This has enabled us now to introduce the first JTAG/boundary scan bench-top system for dot1/dot4 mixed-signal applications, just in time to support customer projects entering the prototyping stage", said Thomas Wenzel, Director of the Business Unit Boundary Scan at Goepel Electronic.
"This Scanflex module is another milestone on our path to provide our customers with tools for extended boundary scan tests based on a scalable system architecture".
The SFX1149.4 module provides one complete dot4 test bus (AT1, AT2) and can be plugged directly onto a Scanflex TAP transceiver (SFX-Transceiver).
To support applications with multiple dot4 test buses, several SFX1149.4 modules can be integrated in a Scanflex module carrier (SFX-Carrier).
The module provides a variety of advanced functions for R, L, and C measurements and the generation and measurement of AC and DC signals with wide-range programmability in voltage, current, and frequency.
For the analysis of complex networks, SFX1149.4 provides a ramp function coupled with a programmable digitiser for the digital recording of response signals.
This puts a powerful instrument for per IEEE1149.4 testable circuits into the hands of users.
The SFX1149.4 module is fully supported in the industry leading boundary scan software system Cascont version 4.3, including the automated recognition of the instrument in a Scanflex configuration through the AutoDetect feature and especially the control over the modules measurement tools.
A key element is the system's boundary scan programming language Caslan.
The language has been expanded with special analogue measurement functions and therefore now provides real mixed-signal support, coupled with program flow control and freely programmable interaction between 1149.1, 1149.4 and other analogue or digital test resources.
The Cascon application programming interface (CAPI) enables the integration of Cascont intp other test systems, also providing access to the dot4 functions and measurements from external control software. Request a free brochure from Goepel Electronic ...
