AOI system is one of the best in test
Goepel Electronic has again won a "Best in Test Award" sponsored by Test and Measurement World.
Goepel Electronic has again won a "Best in Test Award" sponsored by Test and Measurement World.
The company's OptiCon BasicLine 1M/4M AOI system won the "Automated optical inspection" category.
This is a special honour, because numerous companies and their products apply for this prise each year, which makes the Best-in-Test Awards highly sought after.
The awards will be presented during the APEX trade show in Los Angeles in February 2007.
"About one year after releasing OptiCon BasicLine NP, this award demonstrates the AOI system's successful market introduction", says Jens Kokott, Senior Manager AOI Systems for Goepel Electronic.
"This is the result of the continued usage of high-quality components such as linear drive system and custom-designed telecentric lens as well as the modular and flexible system concept".
"Users may start with a low-cost entry variant, and has the opportunity to upgrade the system where production range and component variety demand".
"Test program compatibility is maintained throughout".
The OptiCon BasicLine 1M/4M was introduced during Productronica trade show in 2005, offering special features such as the modular camera principle.
This new camera concept allows alternative selection between a 1 and 4Mpixel camera module.
For an even higher test coverage users will be able to add additional camera options for THT components, colour inspection or 3D measurement as well as angled view inspection for the inspection of J-Lead pins at PLCC and SOJ components.
OptiCon BasicLine is based on a linear drive system which results in a high test speed.
The AOI system features a system specifically developed telecentric lens, reducing debug efforts during program generation without distortion.
The multicoloured top illumination allows a high-contrast display of coloured polarity markings.
The all-new Quattro illumination, where 16 illumination settings can be configured, enables the optimal display of shorts without the false-call inducing influence of flux residue, laser labelling and polarity markings.
OptiCon BasicLine 1M/4M provides an extremely effective stand-alone tool in the production process.
Time and cost savings, as well as an increased quality are cornerstones of competitiveness for assembly houses with, in particular, small and medium volumes - all achievable with the new AOI system.
