Green Hills has the lot for Cirrus Crystal
The latest IDE, RTOS and embedded internet connectivity products from Green Hills Software are for the Cirrus Logic Crystal CS89712 32bit RISC commmunications processor.
Of the tools being announced, the Green Hills Optimising C and C++ compilers yield highly compact code by taking full advantage of the StarCore DSPs' exceptional architectural features, including their variable length execution set (VLES) packing, zero data area, software pipelining, hardware loop support, and European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) intrinsic functions.
For its part, the Multi 4.0 graphical IDE for StarCore's SC1200 and SC1400 provides embedded-product developers with an arsenal of productivity-enhancing features, including powerful data visualisation, workspace management and low-level, bare-board debugging.
Multi 4.0, which runs on Windows and Unix platforms, unites advanced high- and low-level development tools into one advanced, feature-rich environment.

Development environment for embedded Linux
A new version of the MULTI 2000 IDE from Green Hills Software will help simplify the development of sophisticated applications for embedded target systems running the Linux operating system.
For example, the Multi debugger is able to load, control, debug and test a target system without prior board initialisation, real-time operating system or even a ROM monitor.
Also, Multi's Simsc instruction-set simulator interpretively executes StarCore programs on the host platform before target hardware is available.
Simsc is a cycle-accurate simulator that includes full debugging features, host I/O capability, command window, extended profiling and hardware breakpoints.
Moreover, future versions of the Multi IDE for StarCore's two new DSPs promise to take advantage of that IDE's seamless integration with Green Hills Software's recently announced TimeMachine debugger and SuperTrace Probe, as well as provide support for forthcoming reference hardware and software products.
"Green Hills Software's decision to support our high-performance SC1200 and SC1400 DSP cores gives embedded system designers the software development tools they need to fully exploit the competitive edge offered by these two processors", said Dr Brian Dietrich, Tools Manager for StarCore.
"The blend of our synthesisable cores and Green Hills' productivity-boosting tools amounts to a solid one-two punch for delivering knockout products in the wireless communications arena".
The SC1200 and SC1400 DSP cores are the basis for a family of licensable, fully synthesisable, platform products from StarCore. Request a free brochure from Green Hills Software ...
