Showcase products at Electronica 2006 include the Micro-Velosity royalty-free microkernel for deeply embedded devices, and Integrity Workstation, the Posix certified operating system.

Green Hills Software, will be using its presence at Electronica 2006 (Stand A6.407) to showcase products including Micro-Velosity, the ultra-small, ultra-fast, royalty-free microkernel for deeply embedded devices, and Integrity Workstation, the Posix certified desktop and enterprise class operating system Visitors will also be able to see demonstrations of In-Memory TimeMachine and the company's industry-optimised software development platforms

Micro-Velosity is the latest addition to Green Hills Software's Integrity family of compatible real-time operating systems.

With a ROM footprint as small as 1600byte, RAM footprint as small as 1000byte, and service call times as low as 30 cycles, Micro-Velosity is ideal for the most resource-constrained embedded devices.

In addition, Micro-Velosity's intuitive application programming interface (API) and world-class tools integration with the Multi IDE enable developers to create better performing systems at a lower cost that get to market faster than development efforts utilising other RTOS offerings on the market today.

Integrity Workstation was developed for next-generation secure desktop and server applications, such as multi-level secure PCs for the military and intelligence communities, IT systems such as Scada that are critical to security, and financial banking systems.

It was the first desktop and enterprise class operating system to be certified to a product standard based on the latest edition of IEEE1003.1: "Standard for information technology - portable operating system interface (Posix)".

The Integrity RTOS, on which Integrity Workstation is based, is also certified POSIX compliant to the latest edition of IEEE1003.1.

Expected to be of particular interest to embedded software engineers are the demonstrations of the recently-introduced In-Memory TimeMachine and TraceEdge-PCI data collection.

These collection technologies unlock the benefits of Green Hills Software's TimeMachine tool suite for developers using processors without built-in trace support.

TimeMachine enables developers to visualise and replay their software's execution, allowing bugs and inefficiencies to be easily and quickly eliminated and thereby resulting in higher product reliability and faster time to market.

The new technologies use a patent-pending mechanism that enables TimeMachine visibility without requiring recompilation of the application.

Green Hills Software will be showing examples of its industry-specific software development platforms, which currently support medical, Software Defined Radio (SDR), wireless, industrial control, automotive and avionics devices.

These highly-integrated platforms include all of the core software and documentation required to develop and deploy a targeted device, accelerating time to market, reducing development risk, and enabling developers to focus on application-level innovation and differentiation.
