Development package supports Power

Green Hills Software has produced a comprehensive software development package for the 405EZ Power Architecture embedded processor from Applied Micro Circuit Corporation (AMCC) The development toolkit includes: royalty-free RTOSs, optimising C/C++ compilers for Power Architecture, the Multi integrated development environment, a virtual prototyping platform, the DoubleCheck integrated static analyser, and high-speed hardware debug probes

The Green Hills solution for the PowerPC 405EZ consists of the following components: the Multi integrated development environment - providing the industry leading DSO tool set for embedded software developers; Green Hills Power Architecture compilers - generating the fastest and smallest code in the industry for Power Architecture (formerly known as PowerPC); the Green Hills Probe - providing reliable and efficient debugging using the Power Architecture 405EZ JTAG port; and the Integrity real-time operating system - high performance, total reliability, and certified by TUV to Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL3) of the IEC61508 safety standard.

With speeds up to 400MHz, a flexible on-chip and off-chip memory architecture, a combination of ADC, DAC and configurable Chameleon Timer/PWM, and a diverse connectivity package, the Power Architecture 405EZ embedded processor provides a low-power and small-footprint system-on-chip for a wide range of high performance, cost-constrained embedded applications.

Applications include industrial control, high-precision AC, DC and servo drive control, instrumentation, data acquisition, industrial automation, building and enclosure management, commercial and retail systems, Internet appliances, and intelligent USB peripherals.
