GTK has launched a complete range of BT-to-RJ45 line adapter units (LAUs) to connect legacy telephone handsets fitted with BT 431A standard connectors to local area network (LAN) structured cabling infrastructure Available in three formats - fixed adapter, leaded adapter and inline coupler - each with three variants - full master, PBX (private branch exchange) master and secondary unit - GTK's LAU range includes the most compact low-cost adapters of their type yet to reach the market

Power connectors boast 40A contact rating
GTK has introduced the first 5mm pitch power connector with size 16 contacts to be current rated at up to 40A per contact.
Network sockets take status LEDs onboard
A range of low-profile RJ45 network sockets with integrated status LEDs is designed for manufacturers of networking devices as well as telecommunications systems, PCs and servers.
Over the next few years, the convergence of voice and data communications will offer increasing functionality and cost benefits.
Many organisations, both large and small, will require their phone systems and data networks to be connected via a single structured cabling infrastructure.
With GTK's low-cost LAU connectors, such organisations will be able to plug their existing phone handsets into the IT network's RJ45 sockets, spreading their investment in new technology rather than having to replace everything at once.
Leaded and fixed adapter-style LAUs incorporate a BT socket and an RJ45 plug.
The fixed adapters are slim enough to fit side by side at double wall outlets, and feature a special latching mechanism for easy mating to and release from almost any UK floor box.
Inline coupler LAUs, with sockets on both BT and RJ45 sides, are designed to accommodate extension leads from a wall outlet to a distant handset.
Full master LAUs are fitted with a surge arrester to protect the line from any electrical spikes, along with circuitry to cause the connected handset to ring.
They are designed for use on direct or incoming lines.
PBX master LAUs, designed to connect to PBX phone systems with built-in surge suppression, incorporate only limited mastering circuitry.
Secondary LAUs are simple BT-to-RJ45 convertors with no additional mastering circuitry, designed to connect to outlets with mastering components installed, or where mastering is carried out at the patch panel.
GTK's PBX master and secondary LAUs are the most compact currently available.
For example, the secondary inline coupler measures only 37 x 15 x 22mm.
All GTK LAUs are fully compatible with both Cat 5e and Cat 6 structured cabling systems. Request a free brochure from GTK ...
