Outlets and patch panels meet full
enhanced specs
A new range of low-cost RJ45 UTP (unshielded twisted pair) data outlets and patch panels, fully compliant with the Cat 5e rating, has been introduced by GTK.
A new range of low-cost RJ45 UTP (unshielded twisted pair) data outlets and patch panels, fully compliant with the Cat 5e rating, has been introduced by GTK Aimed at structured cabling installers and network equipment manufacturers, respectively, the wall mounting data outlets and rack mounting patch panels are believed to offer cost savings of up to 40% over comparable currently available products, as well as providing greater freedom of access and easier cable management behind the data sockets

Adapters put old phones on the net
GTK has launched a complete range of BT-to-RJ45 line adapter units to connect legacy telephone handsets fitted with BT 431A standard connectors to local area network structured cabling.
Cat 5e (Enhanced Category 5) is an adaptation of the widely used Cat 5 structured cabling rating, which was designed to support datarates of 10 to 100Mbit/s.
Through additional test parameters and more stringent requirements, Cat 5e is optimised for Gigabit Ethernet networks at datarates up to 1Gbit/s.
GTK Cat 5e compliant data outlets come in single-gang and double-gang formats, housing up to two and up to four sockets, respectively.
They are supplied in piece part form for assembly in various formats, with removable faceplate blanks allowing for future expansion in the number of RJ45 sockets.
In Europe, it has been estimated that anywhere between 30 and 70% of network installations that use Cat 5 compliant components are nonetheless substandard in performance terms, because of factors such as excessive pulling strain or tight bends in the cable.
Because GTK Cat 5e data outlets are low profile - just 20 mm deep - they reduce the likelihood of this type of problem by leaving ample space to install the cabling behind them.
GTK Cat 5e rack mounting patch panels come in 1 and 2U formats with 24 or 48 ports, respectively.
A specially designed cable tidy system reduces the stress on internal cables and allows the patch panel to be dressed neatly.
"GTK's Cat 5e modules have been designed by engineers for engineers", said Stephen Sandle, GTK Networking Products Sales Manager.
"Because of this, they incorporate refinements to make sure installations that use Cat 5e components actually deliver Cat 5e performance".
GTK Cat 5e modules feature special "dual-purpose" contacts so they can be terminated using either Krone or 110 tools.
All modules are individually packed, with wiring instructions for T568A and T568B colour configurations. Request a free brochure from GTK ...
