Splitter sends PC video over Cat5 cable
Hall Research Technologies has introduced the first two-, eight- and 24-channel video splitters that send a PC's video signal on a standard Cat5 cable up to 500ft away.
The input video is digitised into dual-field full-frame memory and recreated at the output with a crystal based timing circuit.
This produces a stable, clean, recording quality screen image that is free of picture jitter and time based errors.
The unit also restores missing or distorted colour burst and sync signals (horizontal and vertical).
A digital comb filter provides excellent video decoding and the automatic gain control insures a proper output signal level from a substandard input.
The TBC-100 features adjustments for brightness, contrast, colour saturation, hue and sharpness.
S-Video and composite video connectors are provided on both the input and output ends.
The unit automatically detects which input connector is being used.
Both output connectors are active regardless of which input is being used.
This means that the TBC-100 is also useful as a video splitter as well as a conversion device from S-Video to composite or vice-versa.
When no input is detected, a built-in colour bar generator is activated to the outputs.
The TVB-100 is available from stock and lists at $269.
