The SP14N001 is a high performance 5.1in display module with a built-in Toshiba T6963C controller.

The SP14N001 is a high performance 5.1in display module with a built-in Toshiba T6963C controller.

Ideal for a range of applications from EPOS systems, vending machines, service station pumps and home appliances, the SP14N001 offers design engineers a 240 x 128 black and white film STN display that can be driven by a simple 8bit microcontroller.

The display is manufactured using straight TCP (tape carrier package) instead of chip-on-board, enabling better optical performance in a more robust, compact and lightweight module.

"The SP14N001 is fully backward compatible with Hitachi's LMG7420PFC-X display module and we have maintained the same mounting holes and mechanical outline dimensions to give customers an easy upgrade path".

"The integrated controller means the SP14N001 display places a very low demand on processing power and the built in DC/DC convertor negates the need for engineers to design in a voltage supply for contrast control", comments Mark Dalton, Product Marketing Engineer for Hitachi Display Products Group.

The SP14N001 operates in transmissive mode and offers excellent brightness and contrast with a 150cd/m2 long-life CCFL backlight that boasts a half-life of 50kh.

It is available with touchscreen and/or a DC/DC convertor if required.

The SP14N001 is fully compliant with the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive and is supplied through Hitachi Display Product Group's distribution partners with a warranty.

It is available across Europe now.
