The Sensing and Control business of Honeywell has launched a new, enhanced liquid level sensor, for accurate detection of the presence or absence of liquid The LLE Series offers solid-state reliability and a digital output function in a small package

Its size makes it easy to install where space is limited.

Typical applications include home appliances, medical equipment, vending machines and instrumentation.

The sensor design is modeled on the existing Honeywell LL Series, but with a completely new sensing element and control electronics.

This solid-state solution ensures reliability and an accurate, repeatable switching point for detecting levels of liquid.

Electrically robust, the LLE sensor offers reverse-polarity, overvoltage, short-circuit and transient protection while its digital output facilitates microprocessor compatibility.

Its mode of operation is derived from the principle of total internal reflection.

An LED and phototransistor are housed within a plastic dome at the head of the device.

The presence or absence of liquid on the dome surface determines the output function.

The LLE Series has a supply voltage of 5V DC and an operating temperature range of -25 to +80C.

Various housing styles are available.

The product is manufactured at Sensing and Control's facility in Newhouse, Scotland.
