System tests hands-free kits to new standard
The new VDA quality standard for car hands-free terminals can be qualified using the Acqua communication analysis system and the HMS artificial head measurement system.
It is equipped with Ethernet, AES/EBU and USB interfaces as well as an SIP client, offering full support of the SIP protocol.
The voice codecs implemented are G.711 (a-law, u-law), G.722, G.723.1, G.726-32 and G.729 A/B.
Therefore the MFE VIII can also be used in the testing of wideband terminals and gateways.
The MFE VIII is used as reference gateway in conjunction with the Acqua and other Head Acoustics front ends.
Connected to a notebook or PC via USB (plug and play), it is configured and controlled by Acqua.
Using the MFE VIII, Acqua performs automated measurements according to international, Head Acoustics or user-defined standards.
And, by using the existing MFE VI and MFE VI.1 units combined electrical/acoustical measurements are possible.
In this way the MFE VIII is ideal for system optimisation and development as well as quality control and benchmark testing in all areas where the voice quality of VoIP devices and IP-based transmission systems is important.
