Hitex offers debug and application support for NXP's new LPC2300/2400 microcontroller family.

Hitex has brought out debug and application support for NXP's new LPC2300/2400 microcontroller family.

Besides the existing LPC2300 derivatives the first member of the LPC24xx family supported by the Hitex tool chain is the LPC2468 for multipurpose communication applications.

This microcontroller includes a 32bit ARM7 processor running up to 70MHz with 512Kbyte on-chip Flash and a total of 98Kbyte of SRAM memory as well as an external bus interface.

The 10/100 Ethernet media access controller (MAC), an USB full speed device/host/OTG controller, four UARTs, two CAN channels, an external memory controller (EMC) make this device suitable for communication gateways and protocol convertors.

In addition the versatile clocking capabilities and memory features, various 32bit timers, an improved 10bit ADC, a 10bit DAC, two PWM units and up to 160 fast GPIO lines complement the peripheral set.

Hitex has adapted its entry-level JTAG tool Tantino to support all the LPC2468 on-chip debugging features and has added intelligent enhancements such as condition sensitive breakpoints, soft points in flash and exception assistant.

Tantino is USB-driven and runs with Hitop, the universal IDE and user interface according to latest GUI design standards.

For debugging complex applications in real-time the high-end test and analysis system Tanto is available.

Supported by the Hitop user interface, Tanto offers additional features and improved performance and allows PC connection via Ethernet.

Tanto can be upgraded for complete on-chip ETM-support by simply adding an optional trace module.

After the Embedded World show, Hitex will provide a free download for low level Ethernet drivers as well as an adapted version of the free iUP TCP/IO stacks and the freeRTOS open source real-time operating system with example applications, eg web server.
