It is creating the next EDA beachhead by fuelling the movement from application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) to FPGAs and will launch software in July 2003 to enable programmable devices to obsolete ASIC technology for most standard products.
"Innotech and Hier Design are establishing a strong partnership, built on mutual respect and trust", says Jackson Kreiter, Hier Design's CEO and Chairman.
"Innotech has already proven to be an excellent partner for us.
Its overall EDA experience and level of technical support is unparalleled".
"Hier Design is developing products for a market that is currently unserved by the EDA community", adds Ryoichi Kawashima, President of Innotech.
"Japanese designers are rapidly moving from ASIC to FPGA implementations and will welcome Hier Design's products.
