Hitachi Europe has announced the immediate availability of a new series of 16bit microcontrollers featuring 32Kbyte on-chip RAM - the first in the industry to do so.

The H8/3048BF is ideal for modern industrial control applications.
The H8/3048BF is based on the H8/300H core and boasts an 80ns minimum instruction cycle at 25MHz.
It features an integrated timer unit (ITU) for motor control and a well-balanced peripheral set.
The microcontroller offers an easy upgrade/downgrade path to increased memory (H8/3052BF) or to fewer pins and lower cost alternative models (H8/3039F, H8/3022F), partly with 3V option.
The E10T emulator connects to the device via the OCD interface and is available as a PCI or PCMCIA version.
The emulator boasts a wide range of features, including hardware breakpoint on address and data, software trace, single stepping at C and assembly level, and the ability to download applications and program on-chip Flash.
The E10T is ideal for low cost single-chip emulation.
For complex real-time emulation, the E63052 emulator is more suitable.
The H8/3048BF is supported by the EVB3052F evaluation kit, which comprises all the necessary hardware and software to enable the full evaluation of H8/300H products with integrated timer unit.
The kit includes an evaluation board in a solid metal case, an RS232 cable and manual for the H8/3052BF, a superset of the H8/3048BF, and a suite of accompanying software.
The H8/3048BF is available in a 100-pin QFP/TQFP.
The H8/3048BF, E10T, EVB3052F evaluation board and E63052 emulator support are all available immediately.
