Single-supply MCU controls two motors on
its own
Hitachi's latest 32bit single-chip RISC MCU features 256Kbyte of on-chip single-power-supply Flash memory and two motor control timers, enabling single-chip control of two motors.
Hitachi's latest 32bit single-chip RISC microcontroller, the SH7047F, features 256Kbyte of on-chip single-power-supply Flash memory and two motor control timers, enabling single-chip control of two motors that previously required two microcontrollers This function, together with a 65MIPS processing performance at 50MHz operating frequency, enables high-precision motor control and efficient system control to be achieved with a single chip

Most integrated GSM RF transceiver so far
Hitachi has launched its most integrated GSM RF transceiver solution to date.
This makes it possible to create smaller, lower-priced systems for white-goods, industrial, and automotive applications.
Based on the SuperH SH-2 CPU core, the device is the successor to Hitachi's SH7040 series and comprises the first phase of its new 0.35um products.
The finer process provides faster CPU and peripheral module operation in a more compact form, making it possible to improve the performance and reduce the cost of high-precision motor control systems.

RFID chip small enough to embed in paper
Hitachi has developed the world's smallest radio-frequency identification (RFID) integrated circuit.
In addition to the Flash SH7047F, the SH7049 ROM version is available, offering 128Kbyte of on-chip mask ROM.
Both devices offer a single 5V power supply in place of the two power supply systems of previous products (5V for the I/O ports and 3V for the internal logic circuitry).
This is achieved through the use of an on-chip step-down circuit and simplifies system construction.
Both power consumption and noise have also been reduced as the internal logic circuits operate on a low stepped-down voltage.
In addition to an on-chip multifunction timer pulse unit (MTU) and a motor management timer (MMT), the SH7047F and SH7049 are equipped with a comprehensive selection of peripheral functions for application areas that demand high-precision control and integrated processing of various kinds of control.
For example, both devices offer two A/D convertor units, each comprising eight channels, with both units capable of operating simultaneously.
This makes it possible to speed up the feedback control essential to high-precision motor control.
Moreover, the A/D conversion speed per unit is approximately double that of the older SH7040 series.
As a communication function, the SH7047F and SH7049 incorporate a HCAN2 (Hitachi Controller Area Network), compatible with CAN (version 2.0B), used in in-vehicle LANs and device networks.
The HCAN2 enables the setting of up to 32 message buffers in one channel for fast and reliable communication.
These devices also include a module standby function as a power-down mode that enables the clock supply to be stopped for unnecessary modules, making it possible to implement power-down operation according to the application.
For a development environment, the SH7047F incorporates H-UDI and AUD on-chip debug functions.
This enables simple emulation by using third party on-chip debug development tools such as DASH2 from Codescape (www.codescape.com) and TRACE32-ICD from Lauterbach (www.lauterbach.com).
Emulation support will also be available from Lauterbach.
The SH7047F and SH7049 are available in a 100-pin QFP.
Both devices further strengthen Hitachi's lineup of microcontrollers for motor control.
Previously released products include the 16bit H8/3032 and H8/3039 series with an on-chip integrated timer pulse unit (ITU) for the white goods market, and the 32bit SH7040 series with an on-chip MTU for industrial applications.
