Circular beam is a bonus for red laser diodes
Hitachi has announced the MARU Beam Series of red laser diodes which offers the world's first circular beam with a 1.2 (typical) aspect ratio in the 635nm wavelength band.
With the growing need for positive identification in applications ranging from remote access to Internet-based commerce, Hitachi will demonstrate a remote secure commerce and authentication system based around its 1024bit crypto coprocessor Smart Card IC for digital ID applications.
Using fingerprint recognition, PIN and digital certificates, the system operates on a PDA and brings together Bluetooth, GSM and mobile browsing to show the possibilities of remote commerce and authentication using Smart Cards.
Hitachi's new application processor, the SH-Mobile, along with its latest colour display technology for mobile handsets will be shown.
Also, as the leading supplier of GSM RF products, the company will present its total solutions for the handset market, from batteries to high power amplifiers.
Hitachi is the market leader for on-chip Flash microcontrollers and has recently launched its fourth generation of Flash technology in 0.18um.
The first 4G Flash derivative, the H8/3069F, which is a member of the H8/300H family, will be shown in detail, highlighting its high integration of 512Kbyte Flash memory, combined with built-in firmware, fast programming features and an extra 8KB user boot area.
A number of Hitachi's products and solutions for the digital home, from the connected kitchen to the living room and home office, will be demonstrated.
These include solutions for motor control in washing machines through to Internet terminals, home connectivity and home multimedia systems, all based on the company's industry leading H8 and SuperH platforms.
Also on display will be products and solutions for digital cameras, optical storage applications, VPN firewalls, heating and control systems, security systems and electronic meters.
