MCU sounds a good idea for audio systems
The HT82A836R includes a fully integrated sigma-delta type audio codec to provide a high resolution analogue to digital convertor function.
The HT49R50A-1 also possesses a low-power timer, which by using a newly added RTC oscillator input, allows timer operation to continue even when the processor is in its power-saving or halt mode.
The device also permits the LCD to remain fully operational when the processor is in power-saving mode.
By incorporating a range of ROM LCD options within the microcontroller the interface to the LCD is simplified as the user can select the required bias and com options to match the LCD to be used.
In addition, by using a RAM mapping method, the system to LCD panel interface and operation is made much simpler.
With these special features the HT49R50A-1 is especially suited for a range of LCD display applications such as scales, multimeters, water meters, gas meters, timers as well as a range of household appliance applications.
To complement Holtek's range of microcontroller devices, a comprehensive set of hardware and software tools have also been developed in the form of the HT-IDE2000 development system.
Features such as real-time emulation, memory/register modification, hardware execution breakpoints, trace analysers etc, are all standard features of the system which provide designers with all the tools they need for rapid and efficient product application development and debug.
