FP4 (Flat Pac 4) inductors from Hunter Electronic Components feature a gapped ferrite core for optimum efficiency at very high switching frequencies in applications such as voltage-regulator modules.

Manufactured by the Coiltronics Division of Cooper Electronic Technologies, this inductor series has been developed in co-operation with a designer of multiphase switching integrated circuits.

The gapped ferrite core allows the inductor to be more cost-effective than other less efficient products.

The FP4 family of products is designed for maximum efficiency in high-current voltage regulators used to power microprocessors and servers, and in high-frequency high-current power supplies.

FP4 inductors have a low maximum DC resistance of 6.5mohm, which minimises DC losses.

They are available in inductance values of 100, 150 and 200nH, with peak current ratings up to 64A.

Tape-and-reel packaging (with 900 devices per reel) is standard.
