Honda has launched a new range of low profile, high performance slot connectors for use with the latest SD (Secure Digital) solid-state, removable memory cards.

Honda has launched a new range of low profile, high performance slot connectors for use with the latest SD (Secure Digital) solid-state, removable memory cards Ideal for use in telecomms and datacomms applications and handheld devices such as MP3 players, PDAs, digital cameras and cellular phones, the connectors incorporate a card retention mechanism for additional security

Honda's new SD Series connectors accept standard SD memory card sizes and feature a patented "push-push" eject mechanism, which provides a superior, reliable alternative to snap in alternatives.

The SD card is inserted into and ejected out of the connector body by a simple but reliable tactile push action, enabled by Honda's industry proven technology.

SD memory cards provide removable storage for up to 64Mbyte of encrypted data and feature mechanical card detection and write protect features.

Featuring a three stop sequential contact design, the SD Series accept standard 7-position multimedia cards as well as the new, high performance, thicker, 9-position SD cards.

An optional card detect feature is also available and SM terminations are housed beneath the connector body to reduce overall size.

Furthermore, the low profile design meets published MMC and SD specifications.

Secure Digital is the latest portable data storage medium for removable flash memory card applications and is the new standard for copyrighted or sensitive data download and storage.
