EMC gaskets for high-performance shielding
Holland Shielding Systems has a range of EMC gaskets that combine high-performance shielding with low closing force, very high compression (80%) and a negligible compression set.
Within a few seconds one single strip can be turned into a whole range of boxes, with dimensions increasing by steps of 6.35mm.
The strips come in widths of 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20mm as well as to customer specifications.
Thicknesses range from 0.12 to 0.5mm.
There are two basic types of strip for self-adhesive and solder-pin mounting.
On self-adhesive types, a pressure-sensitive conductive self-adhesive strip makes contact on a 2mm wide "track" on the PCB around the shielded area.
A cover (with small holes for cooling, if necessary) can be fitted on top.
Strips can be bent at 6.35mm intervals.
On solder-pin versions, pins of 1mm wide and about 3mm long are placed every 12.7mm, and small ventilation holes are also punched into the standard version of this strip.
Again, strips can be bent at 6.35mm intervals.
