Lithium thionyl chloride batteries on standby
H-Squared Electronics announces the introduction of Keeper II lithium thionyl chloride batteries into its unsurpassed selection of batteries for industry.
H-Squared Electronics announces the introduction of Keeper II lithium thionyl chloride batteries into its unsurpassed selection of batteries for industry.
Manufactured by US-based Eagle Picher, Keeper II batteries offer the ideal solution in stand-by applications where years of long-life memory back-up is required.
Stand-by power for 10 years or more is offered and micro calorimetry tests show 80% retention of capacity in 15 years.
A range of 12 cells is offered, all with a 3.6 voltage but with capacities (350hr.
rate) ranging from 350mAH to 1600mAH.
When compared to round and cylindrical cells, their unique shape and power to footprint ratio ensures a higher utilisation of board space In addition to their acknowledged use in military and aerospace applications, these batteries are ideal for low power RF applications such as offender tagging and toll tags.
With a 150-year history in chemical products, Eagle Picher moved into manufacturing batteries and today just under half of their $950 million turnover comes from battery sales.
